I was about to start with saying that `a good pattern is worth its weight in gold` but then I realised that talking about paper, that wouldn`t mean too much. However, it`s true: now that I have a more unified pattern to work from, it feels like I got wings and I`m flying through the wee crosses.
Elsewhere, in my parallel universe: I finished the 3 Christmas characters for Collection, I posted them this morning, and last night I finished Six Feet Under (I devoured all 5 seasons of it in the past couple of weeks in an intensive TV watching marathon). Strangely, I haven`t knitted anything for a while, although Gloria`s beckoning me but I`m so absorbed by my stitching at the moment that everything else has to wait. So back to it I go... Cheerio!
Aww looking so pretty..
ReplyDeleteLove x
Beautiful progress! You stitch like the wind. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such an amazing design!
ReplyDeleteThank you, ladies! I`m about to eliminate another shade of sepia today, so there`s every chance I could finish this by the end of the week (famous last words, ha!). I`ll keep you updated :)
ReplyDeleteI love this sepia design! Recently some blog friends did some yiota review & of course I had to hop over & have a look! I absolutely fell in love with La Scapigliata!! Gorgeous! Seeing your progress, I so want to buy this kit... but it seems to be full of confetti!! Is it bad (like a Haed design bad!)???
ReplyDeleteThanks Mii and for the follow too! :)
ReplyDeleteHanging my head in shame, I have to admit I haven`t stitched a HAED yet so I can`t compare. However, I can tell you that I don`t find this one particularly difficult: the pattern only uses a handful of colours and only whole stitches so it grows fairly quickly (provided one has enough time to work on it which I don`t seem to have just now). But after weeks of stitching Christmas stockings and advent calendars, I`m looking forward to finishing this, especially as I have another La Scapigliata lined up from Stitching Dreams (that`s gonna be bigger and more detailed with 22 colours). I`ll give you links to both patterns so you can have a look:

Hi, I know this was posted a very long time ago, but I wanted to ask if you happen to know if they sell this pattern in the USA? I love it and have been looking for a simplified version of La Scapigliata for so long!!
ReplyDeleteHi Melany,
DeleteThis design is by Maria Diaz and was first published in Cross Stitch Collection magazine, then in a compilation book(let) called The Ultimate Maria Diaz Collection - I don`t know how easy these would be to come by in the USA. However, I think the simplest thing for you to do would be to download the chart from Maria`s website - it`s only about $8 and you can start stitching it straight away! :) There`s a link above in my last comment but I copy it here too: http://www.mariadiazdesigns.com/mdd/shop.php?showid=53
