I had to rummage through some pretty old posts to find when I started this - apparently, on 17 May 2012. As with all my own stitching, I enjoyed the luxury of not having to keep count of the hours and minutes I spent working on it - therefore, I have no idea how long it took but I`d guess I spent about 2 or 3 weeks in total stitching this. Now I wonder how long it`ll take me to find a suitable frame for it...
OMG!!! She looks stunning!! As you know, I have this one too.... I'm so busy with some Easter projects, I sadly had to put her away for now!!!! I miss her & when I look at yours finished.... I just want to ignore everything else & start putting a few more crosses on her!!
ReplyDeleteReally wish I was an octopus right now :D Congrats on your finish, she is really beautiful
Thank you :) If it`s any consolation, I haven`t done any Easter stitching (except around Christmas, lol, but that doesn`t count). I hope soon you`ll be able to stitch her again! ;) Can`t wait to see yours finished too! xx
DeleteShe is gorgeous! Congratulations on the beautiful finish. I have this pattern too, but I am too scared to open it - looks like it's going to take a while... How many colors?
ReplyDeleteHope to see the pic when she's framed - it is a work of art. :)
I know there are bigger and more complicated versions out there, which one have you got? This one by Maria Diaz only uses 9 shades of sepia plus a tenth one for the `huge` amount of backstitch, and the design is only 130x130 (24x24 cm on 28 ct evenweave). It`s a bit ridiculous (to me) that it took this long - if it had been for a magazine, I`d have finished it in about a week but then again, part of the charm was that there was absolutely no rush with this one. And, eventually, I got there :) My next job now is to hunt for a gilded square frame, I have the image of it in my mind, now I just have to find it in a charity shop - lol, maybe this`ll take another two years...? Let me know when you start yours, I can`t wait to see your progress piccies!!! :)
